  1. Align steering column to mounting bracket, fit bolt and tighten to 25 Nm.
  2. Connect multiplugs to column switches and ignition/starter switch.
  3. Connect 2 multiplugs to rotary coupler.
  4. Fit steering column nacelle. See this section.
  5. Remove 6mm rod from steering rack, fit and tighten blanking plug.
  6. Fit grommet to floor and reposition carpet.
  7. Connect battery earth lead.
  8. Carry out system check by turning the ignition on and checking that the SRS warning light illuminates then extinguishes after 3 seconds.

Remove

  1. Disconnect battery earth lead.
  2. Remove rotary coupler. See ELECTRICAL, Repairs.
Steering column assembly – Remove rotary coupler. See ELECTRICAL, Repairs.
  1. Disconnect 2 multiplugs from indicator/headlamp switch.
