Headlamp Levelling
The headlamps can be adjusted to prevent dazzle to oncoming vehicles by a switch located to the RH side of the steering column. When an increased load is placed on the rear of the vehicle causing the front to rise, adjustment of the headlamps to one of four positions is possible.
Power is supplied from fuse 8 in the passenger compartment fuse box, on an R/B wire to the headlamp level switch and to the LH headlamp level motor. Fuse 12 supplies the RH headlamp level motor on the R/O wire.
Headlamp level switch adjustment
Adjustment of the headlamp level switch provides the headlamp level motors with one of four different voltages by switching in different value resistors. The headlamp level motors receive this voltage on a G wire and using internal electronics compare the voltage against the 12 volt reference on the R/B wire (LH headlamp) or R/O wire (RH headlamp). The difference between the two voltages determines the position to which the headlamps are moved.
