Description and operationUltrasonic Protection

Ultrasonic Protection

An ultrasonic sensor, mounted in the roof lining, will detect movement within the passenger compartment and send a signal to the alarm ECU on a W wire. Power is supplied to the unit on a P wire. To minimise false alarms, a checking period of 15 seconds elapses before a movement can trigger the alarm.

The ultra-sonic space protection will only be enabled if the handset is used to arm the alarm.

Engine Immobilisation

The engine is immobilised when the perimetric alarm is set, inhibiting the engine primary electrical circuits. Immobilisation is removed when the LH handset button is pressed.

Passive Engine Immobilisation

Even if the vehicle is not locked, passive immobilisation will occur 30 seconds after ignition is switched OFF and the driver’s door has been opened. This state is indicated by the LED in the instrument panel starting to flash. The engine is re-mobilised automatically when the key is inserted into the ignition switch and turned to position ’II’ (provided the handset is in close proximity to the switch)

Alternatively: The re-mobilisation signal can be transmitted by pressing the smooth UNLOCK button on the handset.

NOTE: A single handset must be on the key ring.
