Selector cable adjustment
- Remove front console, see BODY – Repairs.
- Move selector lever to 'R', 'N' or 'D4'.
- Remove lock pin from cable adjuster.
- Pass a 4 mm diameter slave pin through hole in selector cable and adjuster to check for alignment. If binding is felt as pin passes through, cable is out of adjustment.
CABLE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT
- Slacken cable locknut.
- Rotate adjuster until slave pin passes through both holes without binding.
Turn clockwise if cable is too short.
Turn anti - clockwise if cable is too long.
Note: Selector cable has holes at 90° intervals to allow adjustment in 1/4 turn increments.
- With slave pin in position, tighten locknut.
- Move selector lever through its working arc; from 'R' to '2' and back to 'N'.
- Remove slave pin and pass through holes again. If holes are still perfectly aligned, remove slave pin and refit lock pin.
- Fit front console, see BODY – Repairs.
