Topping up the ATF
Topping up the ATF

–  With the engine »running«, screw on the filler adapter -VAS 6262/2- and hand tighten.
–  Shake the oil bottles before opening.
–  Before screwing the adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262 A- onto the oil bottle, observe the notes of the filling tube → Anchor.
–  Add 1 litre of ATF.
–  Pull adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262- off the quick-release coupling and take a look.
If ATF now flows out of hole in adapter:
There is no need to add ATF.
–  Allow ATF to drain until it is dripping.
–  Tighten the sealing screw with a new seal, to a torque of 27 Nm. The ATF level check is now completed.
If no ATF drips:
–  If another litre has to be added → Chapter.
  WARNING
The ATF level must not be too low or too high, otherwise this would impair the function of the gearbox. If however, 2 litres are already missing, the gearbox should be more thoroughly examined. There is probably a »larger« leakage at hand.
