Detaching
  Note
The oil pump can be renewed without the gearbox being removed. The vehicle must be raised and any covers present beneath the front part of the vehicle must be removed. The connection between suspension link and suspension strut does not need to be separated. The drive shaft does not need to be removed. Nor run „basic settings adjustment“. It is only necessary to change the gear oil → Chapter and the pump cover.
  L00-10226
–  Remove central soundproofing, bolts -1 ... 3-.
  WARNING
Wear eye protection.

–  Dismounting the left-hand soundproofing -arrows-.
–  Fit the tray oil extractor -SAT 1100- beneath gearbox.
  A10-1566
–  Remove bolt -A- near pendulum support.
  Note
Some gearboxes, depending upon versions, may have two different screws
There is a black plastic overflow tube in the hole (with an interior 8 mm nut, tightening torque: 3 Nm) is located behind the plug. Its length determines the oil level in the gearbox.
–  Remove this oil pipe.
–  Drain oil.
For further information, we recommend reading the notes on changing the oil filter → Anchor .
–  Thread overflow pipe back on, 3 Nm.
  N34-10673

Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse order. The following must be taken into account:
  A37-0671
–  Insert the shaft -A- for the oil pump in the gearbox as far as the stop mark; turn slightly if necessary.
The assembly spacing -a- of the shaft is approximately 23 mm
–  In this case, carefully remove any metal shavings that may be in the drive gear -B-, but do not demagnetise the gear.
–  Remove the paper gasket that goes between the oil pump and the gearbox.
–  Remove the rest of the paper gasket and clean the inside of the gearbox.
–  Clean the seal surfaces of the oil pump and the gearbox.
–  Insert a new paper gasket between the oil pump and the gearbox, attaching if necessary with gear oil.
  A37-0668
–  Insert the oil pump -1- on the shaft and place ready for assembly.
–  Tighten the new bolts -arrows- in diagonal pairs with 5 Nm + 90° (1/4 turn).
–  Replace the gear oil pump cover
  A37-0671
–  Place the new pump cover in position -A- and tighten the new bolts -arrows- in diagonal pairs to 8 Nm.
–  Fill with gear oil and replace the oil filter → Chapter.
