Renewing oil seal for selector shaft Consult the equivalence table for tools and equipment according to applicability among Seat / VW / Audi / Skoda → Chapter.

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque wrench kit -SAT 8010-, see equivalent → Anchor

t	Pulling device -T20143/1-

t	Pipe section -VW 423-, see equivalency → Anchor

Operation process –  Detach selector lever cable from selector shaft lever → Chapter.

–  Remove nut -arrow-. –  Carefully prise the lever of the selection shaft -A- from the selection shaft.

–  Remove seal by levering with extractor -T20143/1 -.

–  Lightly oil the outside of the new seal. –  Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- half full with sealing grease → Spare parts catalogue.

–  Drive in oil seal onto stop (take care to keep seal straight). l  Closed side of seal -arrow- faces outwards.

–  Fit the selector shaft lever onto the selector shaft and tighten the nut -arrow- to 20 Nm. l  Selector shaft lever can only be fitted in one correct position onto splines. –  Install selector lever cable → Chapter. –  Adjust selector lever cable → Chapter.
