Removing → Anchor

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Torque wrench -SAT 8010-
t  Counterhold tool -T10051-
t  Extractor -T10052-
t  Guide sleeve -T20081B-
t  Extractor -T20143-

Removing
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt → Chapter.
   
–  Extract the bolts -1- of the camshaft wheel.
–  Remove the camshaft wheel from the hub.

–  Loosen the securing bolt -1- of the hub, use the counterhold -T10051- .
–  Loosen by 2 turns the attachment bolt of the hub.

–  Fit the extractor -T10052A- and line up with the openings of the hub and screw down the bolts -1- .
–  Hold the hexagonal (e/c 30) of the extractor -T10052A- and tighten the bolt -2- evenly until the hub comes away from the camshaft cone.
–  Take camshaft hub off.

–  Place the seal extractor -T20143- between the crankshaft and the sealing ring, as shown in the figure. Now search for a pressure point on the other side, lift until the seal is released and, take care the the shaft is not damaged in the process.
Replacing
  Note
The seal lip of the seal should not be further oiled or greased.
–  Clean contact surface and sealing surface of seal.
–  Remove any oil remains from the camshaft journals using a clean cloth.
–  Cover the camshaft cone groove (for ex. With cellophane)
–  Insert seal in adapter -T20081/3- and fit the unit in the camshaft. Also fit the adaptor -T20081/5-.

–  Insert the seal until the limit with the pressure element of the adaptor -T20081/1- and the M12x1.5x65 bolt.
–  Fit the camshaft hub.

–  Tighten securing bolt -1- to 100 Nm (use counter holder -T10051-).

–  Move the camshaft wheel onto the hub.
  Note
The cogged part -arrow- of the camshaft cogwheel should face upwards.
–  Align the camshaft wheel to the centre position in the stripped holes.
–  Screw in the bolts -1- without tightening.
–  Immobilise the hub using the retention tool -T20102-.
–  Notched belt, fitting, tensioning → Chapter.
