| 5 - | Exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with potentiometer for exhaust gas recirculation -G212- |
| q | Before installation, check the sealing surface on the intake manifold for dirt, and clean it, if necessary |
| q | When the exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with exhaust gas recirculation potentiometer -G212- has been replaced, the ignition must subsequently be turned on and off again. Then wait for a minute for the control unit run-on (valve learns, main relay must click in the process) |
| q | Start the engine and let it run for at least one minute at idling speed |
| q | Then interrogate the fault memory of the engine control unit, and there should be no fault registered in the fault memory → Chapter |
| q | If a fault is registered in the fault memory, delete the fault memory and repeat the sequence of operations |
| q | Removing and fitting → Chapter |
