–
| Attach the compressed air hose -1- (compressed air supply) to the supercharger system tester -V.A.G 1687-. |
Note If there is water in the inspection hole, drain it through the drain screw -6-. |
–
| Set the pressure to 0.5 bar using the pressure regulation valve -2-. |
Caution The pressure must not exceed 0.5 bar! Excessive pressure may cause damage to the engine. |
|
–
| Open the valve -4- and wait for the test circuit to be filled. If necessary reset the pressure to 0.5 bar. |
–
| Check for leaks in the supercharger system by listening, feeling, using leak-detector spray or with the ultrasound measuring device -V.A.G 1842-. |
Note t
| Slight leaks on the intake side of the turbocharger are acceptable, as the intake hoses are not designed for working with positive pressure. |
t
| A tiny amount of air escapes from the engine valves. Therefore the retained pressure cannot be checked. |
t
| If a leak is found, consult the notes on the supercharge system for the fitting work to be done → Chapter. |
t
| Before removing the adaptor, depressurize the inspection circuit by releasing the coupling of the adaptor -1687/10-. |
