Automatic gearbox: replace filter and oil
Oil and filter: replace → Chapter.
Only when repair work has been done or an inspection service performed will it be required to change the oil and filter and restore the oil to its correct level. In no other case should oil be added. The reason is that oil loss is only possible through the gearbox.
Brief description
First the oil temperature must be noted. If it is over 50 °C, wait until the gearbox cools down. Then with the engine stopped, the overflow tube should be unscrewed and the oil released. Then the overflow tube should be replaced and the gearbox filled “in excess”, the engine started and the excess oil should flow out until it settles at the level of the overflow tube.
