Oil and filter: replace
  Note

The following instructions must be respected in the order they are given.
–  Connect the central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- or central diagnosis -VAS 5052- and identify the vehicle from:
Guided function.
DSG Automatic gearbox
Check oil level
  Note
  N01-0453
The engine must be stopped. The engine should not be started until the system requests it.
–  Fit the tray -T20173- beneath gearbox.
  N34-10476
–  Unbolt the filter housing “slowly”.
Before removing the filter case from its housing in the gearbox, it should be tilted while it is still attached. The oil can therefore run out of the filtercase into the gearbox.
  N34-10163
–  Place the new filter with the “collar” facing down, and tighten the case to a torque of 20Nm.
–  Raise the vehicle.
–  Remove the sound proofing.
–  Place the tray -T20173- beneath the gearbox.
  N30-10082
–  Remove the testing bolt near the pendular support -arrow-.
In the hole there is a black plastic overflow tube *with an interior hexagon of 8mm, tightening torque: 3 Nm). Its length determines the oil level of the gearbox.
–  Remove this oil tube.
Roughly 5 litres of oil will pour out.
–  Screw the overflow tube back into position and tighten to 3Nm.
  N34-10216
–  Screw the adaptor -A- of the oil tester automatic gearbox -VAS 6262- in the testing hole, tightening by hand.
Shake the oil cans before opening them.
  N34-10510
–  Add 5.5 litres of DSG oil.
When changing bottles the tap could be closed, or the oil tester automatic gearbox -VAS 6262- could be held higher than the gearbox.
–  Progress in the central diagnosis -VAS 5051B- or central diagnosis -VAS 5052- until the DSG oil temperature is given.
–  Now start the engine.
  N00-10139
–  Step on the break and select each of the gearbox selector positions for 3 seconds. Put the gear selector lever into position “P”.
Switch off engine
When the DSG reaches between 35°C and 45°:
–  Detach the quick fastening of the oil tester automatic gearbox -VAS 6262-, with the engine running.
–  Allow the excess oil to come out.
  N01-0453
–  Once the oil has come out (it starts to drip), the oil tester automatic gearbox -VAS 6262-must be unscrewed and a bolt with a new seal fitted.
Tightening torques: 45 Nm
–  Switch off engine
The oil which comes out should not be replaced.
Respect the environment when disposing of the oil.
The change of the oil and filter has finished.
The oil level has returned to its correct level.
–  Fit the sound proofing sump:
