Gearbox: Disassembling and assembling > < checking and completing

Replace
–  Raise the vehicle.
Diesel engine vehicles: Remove the centre sound insulation → Exterior body installation work; Rep. gr.50 .
–  Place below the collecting tary -T20173-.
   
–  Unscrew drain plug -arrow- and empty gearbox oil.

–  Unscrew oil level test and filler plug -arrow-.
–  Tighten the gearbox oil discharge cap to a torque of 25 Nm.
  Note
Oil level is correct when the oil reaches the bottom edge of filling hole.
Oil specification for gears → Chapter.
–  Fill with new gear oil up to the correct level.
–  Unscrew control lid, start engine and let the gears work with engaged gear for about 2 minutes.
–  Stop the engine, remove oil cap and check level again, top up if necessary.
–  Tighten the gearbox oil level control and filler cap and apply a torque of 25 Nm.
–  Install the middle soundproofing.
