Install
  WARNING
Wear protective gloves when working with sealant and grease remover!
–  Remove the residual sealant at the cylinder head and cylinder block with sealant remover, degrease the sealing surfaces.
  Note
t  Always replace the cylinder head bolts.
t  There must be no oil or coolant in the blind holes of the cylinder head bolts in the cylinder block.
t  Remove the new cylinder head gasket from its wrapping immediately before fitting.
t  Treat the new seal with the utmost care. Any kind of damage will result in leaks.
–  Before fitting the cylinder head, turn crankshaft to TDC marking.
–  Turn crankshaft back against the running direction of the engine until all pistons are almost evenly at TDC.
   
–  Check whether the both dowel sleeves -1- that guide the cylinder head are located in the cylinder block, if necesarry insert.
–  Position the new cylinder heads. The legend (part number) must be legible.
–  Position cylinder head, insert all cylinder head bolts and tighten by hand.

–  Tighten cylinder head in 4 stages as follows:
1.  Pre-tighten with torque wrench:
   Stage I = 35 Nm
stage II = 60 Nm
2.  Tighten further with a rigid wrench:
   Stage III = torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
Stage IV = torque a further 90° (1/4 turn)
Further assembly occurs in reverse order.
–  Install timing belt and tension → Chapter.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
