Removing and installing the top trim panel for the tailgate
Removing and installing the top trim panel for the tailgate
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Disassembly wedge -3409-
  Note
The removal and installation of the top trim panel for the tailgate on Octavia II and Octavia Combi II is similar.
Removing:
–  Removing luggage compartment cover.
–  Removing bottom trim panel for tailgate → Chapter.
   
–  Release screws -2- (1.5 Nm).
–  Removing supports of the luggage compartment cover -4- (3 Nm).
–  Loosen top trim panel for the tailgate -5- on the sides -arrows A- with wedge -3409-.
–  Loosen top trim panel for the tailgate -5- at front -arrow B- with wedge -3409- and remove trim panel from the tailgate -1-.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order; pay attention to the following points:
–  Recondition the clips -3- in the top trim panel for the tailgate -5-, if necessary replace with new ones.
