t  Pressure spindle -MP3-408 (VW 412)-
t  Drive bushing -MP3-427 (40-21)-
t  Pressure plate -T10084 A-
t  Interior extractor 30...37 mm, e.g. -Kukko 21/5-
t  Countersupport, e.g. -Kukko 22/2-
t  Hot air blower e.g. -V.A.G 1416-
   
1 - Countersunk screw, 2 Nm
q   tighten crosswise
2 - Bearing plate
q   for cylindrical-roller bearing
q   Fitting position: countersunks for countersunk screws point to the gearbox housing
3 - Cylindrical-roller bearing
q   for drive shaft
q   do not interchange with cylindrical-roller bearing for output shaft
q   can be replaced separately
q   removing → Fig.
q   installing → Fig.
4 - Cylindrical-roller bearing
q   for output shaft
q   do not interchange with cylindrical-roller bearing for input shaft
q   can be replaced separately
q   removing → Fig.
q   installing → Fig.
5 - Cover for gearbox housing

   
Pull the cylindrical-roller bearing out of the gearbox cover
A - Interior extractor 30...37 mm, e.g. -Kukko 21/5-
B - Countersupport, e.g. -Kukko 22/2-

Press cylindrical-roller bearing into cover for gearbox housing
–  Heat the cover for gearbox housing with the hot-air blower, e.g. -V.A.G 1416- in the area of the bearing pedestals to approx. 100°C.
–  Insert the cylindrical-roller bearing in the heated gearbox and press down under the workshop press until heat is transferred.
  Note
Cylindrical-roller bearing must be pressed into the cover up to the stop. Do not tighten in the opposite direction with the countersunk screws across the bearing plate.
