Fault Recognition

The control unit fault recognition has been extended.

The new control unit is capable of recognising a fault in

the airbag telltale; which is then stored as trouble code 44. The two squib circuits are now checked separately and faults are stored as trouble codes 23 and 24.

Likewise new are trouble code 32 for resistance too low - squib circuit 1 and trouble code 53 for control unit not correctly programmed.

These trouble codes will be included in the revision of the "Airbag" Checking Procedures.

The "Parts and Accessories" Department only supplies new control units.
