ABS Function, Inspect

After all work on the brake system in which parts of the ABS were not affected, a simple function check is sufficient. That means that after ignition ON - self- check - the ABS telltale in the instrument housing must go out.

If the ABS telltale in the instrument cluster does not extinguish or illuminates intermittently during travel, the system is defective.

With ABS-2EH:

With diagnosis switch KM-640 switch position "K" or with TECH 1/TECH 1A in connection with Programme-Module "Opel/Vauxhall 87-94 ECU" or TECH 2. "Opel/Vauxhall-87-94 ECU" oder TECH 2. Carry out function testing - see "Testing of Antiblocking system ABS-2E/2EH".
