An adjustment of the drum brake is only necessary through the automatic setting following a dismantling of the brake, a replacement of the brake drum or brake shoe.
It is to be ensured that the parking brake lever is released before the adjustment. In the event of uneven brake operation on the wheels the components of the drum brake and the parking brake cable are to be checked and if necessary replaced.
Remove, Disconnect
Remove the rear wheel, remove the drake drum - see operation "Brake drum Install and Remove"
Adjust
Adjusting unit must be completely tightened. Pinion (arrow) must not lock to end of adjusting unit.
Install, Connect
Fit brake drum - see operation "Brake drum Install and Remove". Fit brake drum - tightening torque 110 Nm. Operate the foot brake at least 20 times, until the movement of the positioning lever is no longer to be heard, as the brake shoe will be up against the brake drum.
