System, Check Function

To check, connect trailer to vehicle. For checks without trailer, connect a 5 watt bulb to both socket terminals "5/58R" and "7/58L" and a 5 watt bulb to terminals "1/L", "4/R", "2/54g" and "6/54". For 13-pin socket, also connect a 21 watt bulb to terminal 9.

When the trailer is in operation, the dual telltale system is a closed loop system. The system indicates a fault even if one light bulb on the vehicle or trailer fails. When the trailer hitch is not in operation, only the vehicle telltale is relevant.
