Replace trailer hitch - L35
Remove

Remove crash absorber (styrofoam)

Detach trailer hitch socket
• |
Fold down trailer hitch socket
|
• |
Unclip and remove trailer hitch socket housing
|
|
|
|
4. |
Unclip trailer hitch wiring harness and place to one side
• |
Unclip cable tie from center rear panelling guide rail
|
|
5. |
Loosen trailer hitch
• |
Unscrew 8x nuts (1) from tailgate threaded bolts
|
|
|
|
6. |
Hang off exhaust end box
• |
Hang off 2x rubber buffers
|
|
7. |
Detach trailer hitch from right side rail
• |
Remove backing plate (4)
|
|
8. |
Detach trailer hitch from right side rail left (l)
• |
Remove backing plate (2)
|
|
|
|
Install
10. |
Insert trailer hitch and fix
Note: Use new nuts and
bolts with bolt retainer compound!
• |
Screw in 4x nuts to tailgate threaded bolts
|
• |
Screw in 2x screws in side rail
|
• |
Screw in 2x screws with washers in side rail
|
|
11. |
Install trailer hitch to tailgate
• |
Tighten 8x fastening nuts 22 Nm
|
|
12. |
Attach trailer hitch to side rail
|
13. |
Hang up exhaust end box
• |
Hang up 2x rubber buffers
|
|
14. |
Attach trailer hitch socket
Note: Fold trailer
hitch socket down and pay attention to the free movement of the
wiring harness!

Clip in trailer hitch socket into housing
|
|
15. |
Clip in trailer hitch wiring harness
• |
Clip in cable tie guide
|
• |
Fix wiring harness with cable tie to trailer hitch
|
|
16. |
Install crash absorber (styrofoam)
|
17. |
Attach rear panelling
|
