Replace thermostat
 Remove

Raise vehicle by its full height
|
| 3. |
Place collecting basin underneath.
|
Warning: Open cooling system only
when the engine is cool
|

Unscrew coolant pump coolant drain bolt (arrow)
|
| 5. |
Lower vehicle by its full height
|
| 6. |
Drain coolant
| • |
Unscrew closure cap of coolant expansion tank
Note: Opening the
coolant compensation tank accelerates coolant drainage
|

|
|
| 7. |
Detach lower coolant hose (1)
|
|
|
| 9. |
Clean sealing surfaces.
|
Install
| 10. |
Install thermostat
| • |
Replace sealing ring
Note: Coat seal ring
lightly with silicone grease (white)

| 11. |
Attach lower coolant hose
|
| 12. |
Raise vehicle by its full height
|
| 13. |
Tighten coolant pump coolant drain bolt 20 Nm
| • |
Insert bolt with commercially available Teflon strip
|
|
| 14. |
Lower vehicle by its full height
|
| 16. |
Fill and bleed cooling system 
|
|
