| DTC P1540 00: Invalid Data Received From HVAC Control Module |
Circuit/System Description
The engine control module (ECM) receives controller area network (CAN) serial data messages from the HVAC control module. Both control modules must be configured with the same A/C compressor type.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Ignition ON.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
| • | The ECM is configured with the wrong A/C compressor type. |
| • | The HVAC control module is configured with the wrong A/C compressor type. |
| • | The DTC B0193 or B393B is present. |
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The A/C compressor is disabled.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
Diagnostic Aids
The ECM and the HVAC control module must be configured with the same A/C compressor type. If not the correct A/C compressor type is programmed the DTC P1540 will be set.

Note: The conditions shown in Diagnostic Aids must be met.
| 1. | Ignition ON, verify that DTC B0193 is not set. |
Refer to DTC B0193 . ⇓ If DTC B0193 is not set
| 2. | Verify that DTC B393B is not set. |
Refer to DTC B393B . ⇓ If DTC B393B is not set
| 3. | Replace the K33 HVAC Control Module and verify the DTC does not reset. |
Replace the K20 Engine Control Module. ⇓ If DTC does not reset
| 4. | All OK. |

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
