Steering Knuckle Replacement

Component Name


Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to . Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
2. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to . Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement
3. Separate the outer tie rod end from the knuckle. Refer to . Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement
4. Separate control arm ball joint from steering knuckle. Refer to . Lower Control Arm Replacement

Steering Knuckle Bolt (Qty: 2)

Steering Knuckle Nut (Qty: 2)

Warning:  Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning .

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

1. Install NEW nuts. Do NOT reuse old nuts.
2. Use EN-45059 angle meter to apply torque.

Tighten
90 N·m (66 lb ft) + 60-70 degrees

EN-45059   Torque Angle Sensor Kit

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
