Fuel Filter, Drain Water (Diesel Engines)
Warning: Fuel escape
- safety requirements and country-specific regulations should be
observed. Drained fuel should be stored in a suitable, sealable
container.
Remove
1. |
Detach fuel filter housing (1)
Note: For Z 17 DT, Z 17
DTH
• |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (2) for fuel preheating
|
• |
Remove fuel filter housing (1) carefully upwards out of crash
box (4) guide (5)
Note: Fuel system
remains closed.

2. |
Drain water from fuel filter (1)
Note: For Z 17 DT, Z 17
DTH
Note: Do not shake fuel
filter housing. Do not permit fuel filter housing to run dry.

Collect fuel with a suitable container (6)
|
• |
Open drain bolt (3) approx. 1 turn
|
• |
Close drain bolt (3) as soon as diesel fuel emerges
|
|

3. |
Detach fuel filter housing (5)
Note: For Z 13 DT, Z 13
DTJ
• |
Disconnect wiring harness plug (1) for fuel preheating
|
• |
Disconnect wiring harness plug, fuel temperature sensor (2)
|
• |
Pull fuel filter housing carefully upwards out of the crash
box
Note: Fuel system (1)
remains closed.

Drain water from fuel filter (5)
Note: For Z 13 DT
Note: Do not shake fuel
filter housing. Do not permit fuel filter housing to run dry.

Collect fuel with a suitable container (3)

• |
Open drain bolt (4) approx. 1 turn
|
• |
Close drain bolt (4) as soon as diesel fuel emerges
|

Install
5. |
Install fuel filter housing (1)
Note: For Z 17 DT, Z 17
DTH
• |
Insert fuel filter housing (1) in crash box (4) and push
downwards into guide (5).

• |
Connect wiring harness plug (2) for fuel preheating
|
|
|
|
6. |
Install fuel filter housing (5)
Note: For Z 13 DT, Z 13

• |
Insert fuel filter housing in crash box and push downwards into
guide
|
• |
Connect wiring harness plug (1) for fuel preheating
|
• |
Plug in wiring harness plug for fuel temperature sensor (2)
|
