Tie Rod with Axial Joint, Remove
(See "Steering Gear, Overhaul" for additional information).
Remove
Unscrew tie rod end from tie rod.
Remove retaining strap for bellows.
Unbolt tie rod with axial joint from rack and replace.
Install
Fasten new tie rod to rack - 60 Nm/44 lbf. ft.
Use new retainer to secure axial joint opposite the rack.
Mount new bellows.
Tighten tie rod end and lock nut to tie rod - 50 Nm/37 lbf. ft.
Adjust toe-out (see operation in group E).
