Side Airbag, Remove and Install   Remove Disconnect battery and wait 1 minute until the capacitor has discharged. Front seat backrest panelling, release and separate side airbag wiring harness plug (1), side airbag (2). Illustration I shows side airbag up to MY '99, illustration II shows side airbag as of MY '99. Caution Always set aside airbag unit with padded side upwards! Side airbag nuts are self-locking and must be replaced!   Install Side airbag – tightening torque 5 Nm / 3.7 lbf. ft., side airbag wiring harness plug, front seat backrest panelling, battery.
