Function

The anti - theft warning system can be operated via the door locks or the infrared remote control.

Using the infrared remote control, the system is activated / deactivated by the centre button on the infrared remote control which simultaneously locks / unlocks the central door locking system.

The anti - theft warning system can only be activated with the key from the driver's door.

It can be deactivated from both the driver's and the co - driver's door.

Note:

The electronic immobiliser can only be deactivated with the infrared remote control.

Switching on with the key is performed by turning the key 30° to the right, switching off by turning 30° to the left; in both cases starting with the key in the vertical position.

The luggage compartment lid / tailgate can be opened even if the anti - theft warning system is switched on.

To do this, the key must be turned to the right as far as it will go.

The key cannot be removed in this position.

After closing the luggage / load compartment, turn the key back to the original position.

The interior and luggage compartment monitors are switched on again after approx. 10 sec.

When the system is activated, alarm is triggered when:

-      the supply voltage for the central door locking system is interrupted,

-      the arm / disarm lead for the anti - theft warning system is disconnected,

-      the activate / deactivate lead for the immobiliser is disconnected,

-      a door contact switch, load compartment lamp switch or engine compartment lamp switch is grounded,

-      a voltage change occurs at the ignition circuit (Ter. 15) or, for vehicles with diesel engine, at the starter circuit (Ter. 50),

-      the radio ground is disconnected,

-      ground for contact loops or heated rear screen is missing in Estate (glass breakage),

-      the interior monitor detects intrusion.

Alarm can be struck acoustically (horn) and visually (hazard warning lamps) (depending on national legislation).

The interior can be intentionally omitted from monitoring if, for example, pets are to be left in the vehicle.

To do this, actuate the button in the instrument panel before arming the system with the ignition switched off.

If the vehicle voltage supply should fall, e. g. when the battery is disconnected, the anti - theft warning system automatically returns to the operating status that was prevalent at the time of disconnection on re - establishment of power.

The armed anti - theft warning system is protected against false alarms caused by:

-      buffetting and vibration of vehicle,

-      failure of a bulb,

-      exterior noise,

-      change in light conditions,

-      air streams and temperature changes in interior,

-      infrared signals in interior,

-      automatic switching of electric consumers.

Self - diagnosis is carried out each time before the anti - theft warning system is armed.
