Front Engine Damping Blocks, Remove and Install > < Front Engine Damping Blocks, Remove and Install (with AC)

 

Rear Engine Damping Block, Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191  Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

For X 16 XEL with secondary air system: Remove air intake pipe (1).  

For X 16 XEL without secondary air system, Y 16 XE, Z 16 XE, X 18 XE1, Z 18 XE, Z 18 XEL: Detach air intake hose from upper part of air cleaner housing.  

Remove torque support (2).  

Remove side engine compartment cover.  

With version with manual transmission: loosen clamp from shift lever and separate shift guide from shift lever.  

Version with automatic transmission: Press selector lever actuation cable off actuating lever for selector lever shaft - see operation "Selector Lever Actuation Cable, Remove and Install" in group "K".  

Attach engine to Engine Bridge MKM-883-1 and lift until rear engine damping block is relieved of its load - ensure that attaching parts are not damaged. Remove fastening bolts (3) from front axle body and fastening bolts (5) from transmission. Remove engine damping block with engine damping block bracket downwards. Remove engine damping block bracket (4) from engine damping block.

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach engine damping block bracket to engine damping block - tightening torque 45 Nm / 33 lbf. ft.  

Mount and fasten engine damping block to front axle body - tightening torque 20 Nm / 15 lbf. ft.  

Attach engine damping block bracket to transmission - tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft.  

Release engine from Engine Bridge MKM-883-1 and remove engine bridge.  

For version with manual transmission: Attach shift guide to shift rod using clamp (1) - it is only tightened to torque after transmission shift linkage has been adjusted. Adjust shift - see operation "Transmission Shift Linkage, Adjust" in group "K".  

For version with automatic transmission: Press selector lever actuating cable onto actuating lever for selector lever shaft - see operation "Cable - Selector Lever Actuation, Remove and Install" in group "K".

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Install torque support - tightening torque 60 Nm / 44 lbf. ft. Install side engine compartment cover.  

Notice: 

Before assembling components of the intake system (hoses, connections, etc.), they must be cleaned of any possible contamination (grease, oil, etc.). When tightening the hose clamps, be sure to observe exactly the tightening torque of 3.5 Nm / 2.6 lbf. ft.  

Object Number: 616201  Size: DEFAULT  Important!   

It is only ensured that the intake system is free of leaks, thus ensuring operational safety of the engine, if the hose clamps are tightened correctly to the prescribed tightening torque.  

Object Number: 616192  Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

For X 16 XEL with secondary air system: Install air intake pipe.  

For X 16 XEL without secondary air system, Y 16 XE, Z 16 XE, X 18 XE1, Z 18 XE and Z 18 XEL: Attach air intake hose to upper part of air cleaner housing.
