Removing and installing thermostat
Removing and installing thermostat
  Note
t  Checking thermostat → Vehicle diagnostic tester„Function and component selection“.
t  The thermostat is part of the thermostat housing.
Removing
–  Remove alternator → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove coolant pipes → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect coolant hose -arrow- from thermostat housing, raising retaining clip to do so.

–  Unscrew bolts -arrows- and remove coolant thermostat housing with thermostat from engine.
Installing
–  Clean sealing surface for O-ring.
–  Renew O-ring and coat with coolant.
–  Position coolant thermostat housing on cylinder block and tighten bolts evenly to 15 Nm.
–  Further assembly is basically the reverse of the dismantling sequence.
