Measure the height of the mountings.
The height should be 3.5 mm (1/8").
It the mounting is too high it must be ground off and replaced.
Final treatment
Prime and spray sanded and drilled surfaces and the clip mountings.
Treat with rustproofing agent (see Service Manual Section 8, Sheetmetal and Glass).
