Place seal on tool 5538 (against side marked 1031).

1 = Seal.

Press on seal using tool 5156 (M20 thread) or 5504 (M24 thread).

Install drive flange, oiled on the seal surface using press tool, positioning flange as per marking.

Torque drive flange. Use new, oiled nut.
NOTE: Do not use nut runner.
Pinion without compression sleeve: 200 - 250 Nm (148 - 184 ft lb).
Pinion with compression sleeve: 180 - 200 Nm (133-148 ft lb).
No axial play is permissible.
NOTE: A torque of 200 Nm (148 ft lb) must not be exceeded. Otherwise, the pinion bearing preload may be excessive, leading to bearing failure.

Install propeller shaft as per marking. Use new bolts and nuts.

Tighten nuts in diagonal pattern to 50 Nm (37 ft lb).

Check oil level.
