Operation 5530B10 · Battery and leads

1.6 TS, 2.0 TS

Removing

1. Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-).

2. Open the maxi fuse box cover.

3. Undo the bolts securing the 'maxi-fuse' box to the battery.

4. Loosen the bolt fixing the battery terminal (+).

5. Release the maxi fuse box from the battery and move it to the side.

1. Undo the nut (1a) for the battery fixing belt (1b).

2. Remove the battery.

Refitting

Place the battery back in its housing.

Secure the battery with its belt and tighten the nut.

Place the maxi fuse box back in its housing on the battery.

Tighten the bolt securing the battery's (+) terminal.

Tighten the bolts securing the maxifuse box to the battery.

Close the maxi fuse box cover.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

1.9 JTD 8V

Removing

1. Loosen band (1a) and disconnect the air supply hose to the throttle body (1b), throttle body side.

2. Ensure that the ignition key is in OFF position, then disconnect the battery negative terminal (-).

3. Open the maxi fuse box cover.

4. Undo the bolts securing the 'maxi-fuse' box to the battery.

5. Loosen the bolt fixing the battery terminal (+).

6. Release the maxi fuse box from the battery and move it to the side.

1. Undo the nut (1a) for the battery fixing belt (1b).

2. Remove the battery.

Refitting

Place the battery back in its housing.

Secure the battery with its belt and tighten the nut.

Place the maxi fuse box back in its housing on the battery.

Tighten the bolt securing the battery's (+) terminal.

Tighten the bolts securing the maxifuse box to the battery.

Close the maxi fuse box cover.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Conect the air supply hose to the throttle body, throttle body side and tighten the band.

1.9 JTD 16V

Removing

1. Ensure that the ignition key is in OFF position, then disconnect the battery negative terminal (-).

2. Remove the maxi fuse box cover.

3. Undo the bolts securing the 'maxi-fuse' box to the battery.

4. Loosen the bolt fixing the battery terminal (+).

5. Release the maxi fuse box from the battery and move it to the side.

1. Undo the nut (1a) for the battery fixing belt (1b).

2. Remove the battery.

Refitting

Place the battery back in its housing.

Secure the battery with its belt and tighten the nut.

Place the maxi fuse box back in its housing on the battery.

Tighten the bolt securing the battery's (+) terminal.

Tighten the bolts securing the maxifuse box to the battery.

Place the maxi fuse box cover back in its housing.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

3.2 V6

Removing

1. Loosen the band (1a) and disconnect the oil vapour recirculation pipe (1b) from the corrugated hose.

2. Loosen the bands (2a) and remove the corrugated hose (2b), complete with resonator (2c).

1. Ensure that the ignition key is in the OFF position, then disconnect the negative battery terminal (-).

2. Open the maxi fuse box cover.

3. Undo the bolts securing the 'maxi-fuse' box to the battery.

4. Loosen the bolt fixing the battery terminal (+).

5. Release the maxi fuse box from the battery and move it to the side.

1. Undo the nut (1a) for the battery fixing belt (1b).

2. Remove the battery.

Refitting

Place the battery back in its housing.

Secure the battery with its belt and tighten the nut.

Place the maxi fuse box back in its housing on the battery.

Tighten the bolt securing the battery's (+) terminal.

Tighten the bolts securing the maxifuse box to the battery.

Close the maxi fuse box cover.

Connect the negative (-) battery terminal.

Place the corrugated hose, complete with resonator, back in its housing and tighten the bands.

Connect the oil vapour recirculation pipe to the corrugated hose and tighten the band.
