ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM - LEAKAGE TEST

1.4 16v

- Undo the engine coolant reservoir cap from the expansion reservoir and remove it.

1. Fit the engine cooling system leakage test equipment on the reservoir filler.

2. Manually pressurize the circuit and check that the reading on the pressure gauge remains constant.

- Remove the tool from the expansion tank.

1. Tighten the tool (1b) to the engine coolant reservoir cap (1a).

2. Manually pressurize the cap and check that the cap exhaust valve opens at the correct pressure on the gauge.

- Undo the cap from the tool and tighten it on the engine coolant reservoir.

1.9 JTD 8v, 1.9 JTD 16v

- Undo the engine coolant reservoir cap from the expansion reservoir and remove it.

1. Fit the engine cooling system leakage test equipment on the reservoir filler.

2. Manually pressurize the circuit and check that the reading on the pressure gauge remains constant.

- Remove the tool from the expansion tank.

1. Tighten the tool (1b) to the engine coolant reservoir cap (1a).

2. Manually pressurize the cap and check that the cap exhaust valve opens at the correct pressure on the gauge.

- Undo the cap from the tool and tighten it on the engine coolant reservoir.
