Operation 1008C32 · POWER UNIT REACTION ELEMENTS

1.4 16v

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Position a hydraulic support under the power unit, gearbox side.

1. Undo the bolt securing the reaction rod to the suspension crossmember.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the reaction rod to the bracket on the gearbox.

3. Remove the reaction rod.

Refitting

- Refit the reaction link in its seat and tighten the bolt fixing the bracket on the gearbox to the specified torque.

- Tighten the bolt securing the reaction rod to the suspension crossmember to the specified torque

- Remove the hydraulic support

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.9 JTD 8v, 1.9 JTD 16v

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the bolt securing the lower reaction rod to the suspension crossmember.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the lower reaction rod to the bracket on the gearbox.

3. Remove the lower reaction link.

Refitting

- Refit the lower reaction link in its seat and tighten the bolt fixing the bracket on the gearbox to the specified torque.

- Tighten the bolt securing the lower reaction rod to the suspension crossmember to the specified torque

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

1.4 16v TJet

Removing

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

Op. 7055B54 UNDER ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD - R.R.

1. Undo the bolt securing the lower reaction rod to the suspension crossmember.

2. Undo the bolt fixing the lower reaction rod to the bracket on the gearbox.

3. Remove the lower reaction link.

Refitting

- Refit the lower reaction link in its seat and tighten the bolt fixing the bracket on the gearbox to the specified torque.

- Tighten the bolt securing the lower reaction rod to the suspension crossmember to the specified torque
