SPECIFICATIONS

The new internal gear control system, which has 4 selection planes with a central gear positioner on bearings, has the advantage of low hysteresis and consequently a lower gear selection force.

The layout of the 4 selection plane gear control makes use of a syringe device on the gear lever knob in the passenger compartment to inhibit the accidental engagement of reverse gear.

The solution adopted with bowden cables makes it possible to:

- eliminate the vibrations transmitted by the engine to the gear lever;

- improve the manoeuvrability of the gear control thanks to the reduction of the fitting clearances;

- improve the positioning of the components in the engine compartment so that the cables are ideally located in relation to the rods.

One of the two cables is for gear selection, and the other is for gear engagement.

MANUAL GEARBOX EXTERNAL CONTROL (CABLES)

The twin cable external control is made from plastic materials with high specifications (resistance to fatigue, lubrication properties, lightweight).

This type of control combined with the distribution of the inertia masses towards the gearbox has made it to possible to achieve:

- a high level of driving comfort due to the filtering action of the vibrations beause of the lightness of the external control components;

- precise manoeuvring and a reduction in the matching clearances.

The external control is equipped with a reverse gear inhibitor device which, by means of a selection travel inhibitor, guarantees greater safety against accidental manoeuvres.

The gear selector/engagement cables are adjusted by means of the special nut located near the gear selector/engagement unit on the gearbox.
