(*) regardless of the mileage, the timing belt must be changed every 4 years for heavy-duty use (cold climates, town use, long periods of idling, dusty areas) or at least every 5 years.
(**) If the vehicle is used mainly around town or is driven less than 10,000 km anually, the engine oil and engine oil filter must be changed every 12 months
(***) The engine oil and oil filter should be changed on the basis of their actual degradation; this depends on vehicle usage conditions and is signaled by a warning light or message (where applicable) on the dashboard
(°) On the 1.4 16v T-Jet versions the following are vital in order to ensure correct operation and prevent serious damage to the engine: only use spark plugs specifically certified for this engine, of the same type and the same make (see Design specifications and descriptions - Injection-ignition section); stick scrupulously to the replacement interval in the Planned Maintenance Programme
