IGNITION COIL OPERATION CHECK

Use the spark gap kit for this test (part no. 1806369000).

Make sure that the ignition key is in the OFF position.

Remove the HT coil from its housing

Fit the spark gap (SP-02) between the HT output and earth

Make sure that the rubber protective gaiters for the cables are correctly fitted.

Disconnect the electrical connections for the injectors.

Start the engine and check for a spark across the spark gap points

Repeat the same test on the other coils.

Clear the injector errors using the diagnostic station.

It is possible to carry out the test on the coils by activating the Active diagnosis for the coils using the Examiner and listening for the clicking of the H.T. sparks controlled by the diagnostic equipment.
