SINGLE TAPPET COVER -R.R AND REPLACE GASKET
Removing
Op. 1016A10 SOUND-PROOFING COVER - R.R
Op. 1064B50 TURBOCHARGER VANE POSITION CONTROL ACTUATOR SOLENOID VALVE INLET PIPE - R.R.
1. Loosen the colllars and disconnect the oil vapour pipes from the cam cover.
2. Undo the bolts (2a) and remove the cam cover (2b).
Refitting
- Place the cam cover in position and secure it by tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

- Connect the oil vapour pipes to the cam cover and tighten the bands.

Removing
If the cam cover is replaced, run the following self-learning procedure.
Start the engine without pressing the accelerator pedal, with engine temperature greater than or equal to 20 °C and engine idling for 10 seconds.

1. Unscrew the bolt and remove the earth cable (1a) and electrical connection of timing sensor (1b).

2. Disconnect the electrical connection of the variable valve timing solenoid (2a), unscrew the bolts and remove the cam cover (2b).

- Unscrew the bolt and remove the timing sensor.
Refitting
- Fit the cam cover on the cylinder head.
1. Fit template 1a) on cam cover (1b).

2. Tighten the cam cover bolts to the recommended torque.

1. Remove the template and fit the timing sensor.
- Connect the electrical connection for the variable valve timing solenoid.
- Connect the electrical connection for the timing sensor and earth lead.

1. Undo the bolt and release the earth lead.
2. Disconnect the electrical connection for the timing sensor.

3. Unscrew the bolt and remove the timing sensor.
4. Undo the bolts and remove the cam cover.
Refitting
- Fit the cam cover to the cylinder head and secure it tightening the bolts to the recommended torque.

- Fit the timing sensor in its seat and connect it to the electrical connection.
- Connect the earth lead to the cam cover.
