CLIMATE CONTROL NOT HEATING

Manual Air Conditioning

The climate control is working properly and sends air according to the preset flows but this air does not guarantee the required heating.

Results of the tests
0PRELIMINARY CHECKAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the engine coolant level is within the preset levels and that the refrigerant fluid circulates correctly in the systemMove on to Step 1Engine coolant level too low.Restore the correct level checking that there are no leaks from the system.
Refrigerant fluid not circulating correctly (thermostatic valve does not open sufficiently)See fault diagnosis for thermostatic valve
1CHECK ON CORRECT CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATIONAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
With the engine on, the compressor off, in the manual function with the temperature knob at the maximum hot position. Select the recirculation button the the closed position and set the fan speed to 3 and front ventilation distribution. Using the diagnostic equipment check that the engine temperature reaches at least 70 °CMove on to Step 4The temperature of the air coming out of the vents is not the desired oneMove on to Step 2
2CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check that there are no errors at the engine temperature sensorMove on to Step 3Error at the engine temperature sensorSee fault diagnosis for engine temperature sensor
3CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the air mixture motor errors do not persist (after the self-learning procedure, if necessary)End of diagnosisLeft air mixture actuator error

Replace the left air mixture motor

Op. 5040D84 AIR CONDITIONING LEFT HAND AIR MIXER FLAP CONTROL MOTOR - R.R

Right air mixture actuator error

Replace the right air mixture motor

Op. 5040D86 AIR CONDITIONING RIGHT HAND AIR MIXER FLAP CONTROL MOTOR - R.R

4CHECK ON CORRECT OPERATION OF KINEMATIC MECHANISMAll OKProblems encounteredOperation
Check that the climate control flexible cables/kinematic mechanisms are working correctlyEnd of diagnosisOperation of climate control flexible cables/kinematic mechanisms not correctReplace the control unit and flexible transmission cables
