PASSENGER COMPARTMENT VENTILATION FAN

To remove the passenger compartment ventilation fan, simply undo bottom part of instrument facia (indicated by arrow in top figure) and unscrew screws (1) that fasten base (2) to the bottom part of distributor heater assembly. Then withdraw connector (3) and disconnect from supply leads.

Disassembly

• disconnect the two terminals of leads (7) supplying motor (8) from connector (9) press-fitted to base (2);
• undo profiled flexible blocks (10) fitted to adaptor ring (11) in order to release from base (2);
• unscrew motor (8) with impeller (12) and adaptor ring (11) from base (2);
• use a drift to withdraw impeller (12) from shaft of motor (8) to which it is press-fitted;

• expand tabs with toothed profile of adaptor ring (11) outward in order to withdraw from motor (8).
