Arming rod

• disconnect the inner bracket from the retaining pin located on the winder, then withdraw it from the pillar;
• check through the window that the safety device has operated, checking that the spring (arrowed in the insert) has returned to the rest position against the pretensioner cover; if it has not operated, stop the procedure and take the utmost caution, since it is possible for the device to be activated.

The fitter must wear personal protection (polyethylene gloves, safety goggles and noise defenders), he should not bring his face close to the device and he should keep at the maximum distance permitted to carry out the operation.
