Refitting

(Cont. Op. 1036A20)

1. Remove the rocker arm carrier with the support, rocker arms and hydraulic tappets.

1. Take out the rocker arm control rods.

• Raise the vehicle.
• Remove the front right wheel (see Op. 4450B10 WHEEL (one) front - R+R).
• Remove the right supplementary wheel housing (see Op. 7055B42 SUPPLEMENTARY WHEEL HOUSING (one) - R+R).
• Follow Op. 1020A10 CRANK CASE OIL SUMP - R+R and replace gasket.
• Follow Op. 1020B10 COVER OF TIMING SYSTEM with chain drive - R+R and replace gasket.
• Follow Op. 1032A10 Timing system CHAIN AND GEAR - R+R for timing tuning or to Replace.
• Follow Op. 1084B10 ENGINE OIL PUMP - R+R with crank case oil sump removed.

1. Unscrew screw (1a) and remove front bearing (1b).
2. Take out the camshaft.
3. Take out the camshaft tappet cases from the crank case.

Refitting

• Insert the camshaft tappet cases in the crankcase.

Note: To hold the camshaft tappet cases in the crank case, cover the external surface with the grease indicated further on.

• Insert the camshaft in the crank case.
• Assemble the camshaft front bearing and fasten with its screw.

Note: To avoid interferences, the chamfered part of the camshaft front bearing is to be positioned toward the oil pump gear.

• Complete with Op. 1084B10 ENGINE OIL PUMP - R+R with crank case oil sump removed.
• Complete with Op. 1032A10 CHAIN AND GEARS of timing system - R+R for timing tuning or to Replace.
• Complete with Op. 1020B10 COVER OF TIMING SYSTEM with chain drive- R+R and replace gasket.
• Complete with Op. 1020A10 CRANK CASE OIL SUMP- R+R and replace gasket.
• Complete with Op. 1092B54 Alternator / water pump BELT - Tension adjustment.
• Assemble the right supplementary wheel housing (see Op. 7055B42 SUPPLEMENTARY WHEEL HOUSING (one) - R+R).
