2. Remove the clamps (2a) of the wheel side C.V. joint boot (2b) and move it.

1. Remove the axle shaft retainer circlip using the tool

2. Withdraw the axle shaft (2a) from the C.V. joint (2b).

• Withdraw the C.V. joint boot from the axle shaft.

Reassembly

Before refitting the C.V. joint wash it carefully with fuel oil or petrol and check that the balls and their seats are perfectly specular and with no signs of seizing or scoring. If any faults or damage are noticed replace the joint.

• Insert the C.V. joint boot clamps on the axle shaft.
• Insert the C.V. joint boot on the axle shaft.
• Insert the axle shaft in the C.V. joint.
• Assemble the axle shaft retainer circlip using the tool

• Fill the boot and the C.V. joint with grease

• Re-position the C.V. joint boot and tighten the clamps.
• Remove the axle shaft from the vice.

Removal

• Position the axle shaft in a vice.
• Carry out Op. 2710A52 differential side SLIDING JOINT, (one) rh or lh - R+R. with axle shaft removed - Incl. boot repl..
• Carry out Op. 2710A54 Wheel side C.V. JOINT, (one) rh or lh - R+R. with axle shaft removed - Incl. boot repl..
• Remove the axle shaft from the vice.

Reassembly

• Position the new axle shaft in a vice.
• Complete with Op. 2710A52 Differential side SLIDING JOINT, (one) rh or lh - R+R. with axle shaft removed - Incl. boot repl.
• Complete with Op. 2710A54 Wheel side C.V. JOINT, (one) rh or lh - R+R. with axle shaft removed - Incl. boot repl..
• Remove the axle shaft from the vice.
