OPERATIONS

3380A04 - HANDBRAKE - ADJUSTING THE STROKE

• As play due to wear is taken-up automatically, before adjusting the handbrake, change the following parts:
• rear brake shoes
• rear brake drums
• complete handbrake cable.
• Position the vehicle on a shop jack.

1. Remove the lock nut.
2. Remove the adjustment plate.

• Press energetically the brake pedal at least 10 times.
• Lift the handbrake to the third notch.
• Screw the adjustment plate until the rear wheels are locked.
• Screw the lock nut.

• Check the rear wheels are free when the handbrake is released.
• Remove the vehicle from the shop jack.

3380A10 - HANDBRAKE LEVER - R.R.

Removal

• Position the vehicle on a shop jack.
• Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

• Perform Op. 7040A62 TUNNEL PANEL - R.R.

1. Remove the lock nut.
2. Remove the adjustment plate.
3. Remove the handbrake return linkage (3a) from the linkage (3b).
4. Remove the nuts.
5. Remove the handbrake control guard.

1. Disconnect the electric wire to the handbrake switch.
