Graph showing resistance in Ohms (Ω) on the Y-axis ranging from 50 to 50000, plotted against temperature in degrees Celsius (°C) on the X-axis ranging from -40 to 120. A single curve descends steeply from high resistance at low temperatures to lower resistance at high temperatures.

  1. Disconnect the fuel delivery pipe from the injector holder pillar and connect it to pipe A.
  2. Disconnect the pump fuel return pipe from the injector holder pillar and connect it to pipe B.
  3. Plug the coupling of the fuel outlet from the injector holder pillar with the special plug.
  • Connect pipe C of the fuel pressure test equipment to the fuel inlet coupling of the injector holder pillar.
  • Set micrometric valve H and taps D and E in opening position.
  • Set micrometric valve G and tap F in closing position.
  • Connect the diagnostics equipment and start the fuel electric pump as indicated by the "Active diagnostics" program then by means of micrometric valve H roughly set the supply pressure at a value of approx. 0.9 bar.
  • Switch off and disconnect the diagnostics equipment.
  • Start up the engine and keeping it idling open tap F, then by means of micrometric valves G and H, set the supply pressure at a value of 1.1 ± 0.2 bar.
  • Lock micrometric valves G and H through lock nuts I.
  1. Set up the Flowtronic consumption verification equipment between pipe C and the coupling for fuel inlet to the injector holder pillar .

  • Test fuel consumption on the road in accordance with standard 93/116/EC (litres x 100 km):
    IN TOWN TEST - includes a cold start, followed by the simulation of a varied urban route.
    OUT OF TOWN TEST - includes frequent accelerations, in all gears, simulating a normal out-of-town use of the vehicle;
    AVERAGE COMBINED TEST - includes 37 % of the town test and 63% of the out-of-town test.
Schematic diagram of the fuel system setup showing components labeled 1 through 5, including a Fueltronic unit, various pipes (A, B, C), taps (D, E, F), micrometric valves (G, H), a pressure gauge, and an injector assembly (4). Arrows indicate flow direction.
