FRONT SEAT BACKREST ANGLE ADJUSTMENT NOT WORKING

When the switch is pressed the seat backrest adjustment is not working.

Results of the tests
1CHECKING WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems metOperation

Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check for the following at the CAN:

  • inactive control units;
  • control unit errors;
  • control units with errors in CAN line
Continue to Step 2Presence of faults.Continue according to the instructions for the diagnostic equipment.

Keep the Examiner diagnostic equipment connected and check for errors:

  • at the seat backrest adjustment control switch;
  • at the seat backrest adjustment operating relay.

3CHECKING ELECTRICAL CIRCUITAll OKProblems metOperation
Check continuity/insulation of the electrical connection between the seat backrest adjustment operating relay and the driver's position node/passenger position node See E3076 ELECTRICALLY-ADJUSTABLE SEATS.Continue to Step 6Electrical connection interrupted or not insulated.Restore electrical connection continuity/insulation See E3076 ELECTRICALLY-ADJUSTABLE SEATS.
4CHECKING WITH DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENTAll OKProblems metOperation
Check that the seat backrest adjustment motor is working properly using active diagnosis.Continue to Step 8Seat backrest adjustment motor not working.Continue to Step 5
5CHECKING ELECTRICAL CIRCUITAll OKProblems metOperation
Check continuity/insulation of the electrical connection between the seat backrest adjustment operating relay and the driver's position node/passenger position node See E3076 ELECTRICALLY-ADJUSTABLE SEATS.Continue to Step 7Electrical connection interrupted or not insulated.Restore electrical connection continuity/insulation See E3076 ELECTRICALLY-ADJUSTABLE SEATS.

Replace:

  • if the driver's seat is involved: driver's position node
  • if the front passenger seat is involved: passegner position node
