AIR CONDITIONER FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

2.0 16V JTD, 2.2 16V JTD · MY 2005

The climate control system control unit M070 (pins 12 and 10 connector A) receives a power supply via two lines both coming out of the Body computer node M001 (pin 1 connector G and pin 6 connector D respectively) of which only one (the latter) is protected by fuse F14.

Control unit M070 communicates via the CAN (pin 14 and 15 connector A) with the instrument panel E050 (pins 6 and 12) and with the Body computer node M001 (pins 8 and 10 connector D).

See E1050 CAN CONNECTION LINES

The Body computer node M001 (pin 5 connector E) produces the enablement signal to be sent to the relay J035 (pin 1). The latter takes (pin 3) a power supply from a line protected by fuse MF01 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 1 connector D) and, in turn, supplies (pin 5) the fan control H081 (pin B connector A).

The fan control H081 (pin 1 connector B) is controlled by the climate control system control unit M070 (pin 2 connector B) and, in turn, controls (pin 1 connectors C and D) the passenger compartment air fan N085 (pin 1 connectors A and B respectively). There is a control unit inside H081 that controls the speed of the fan in relation to the command given by the special selector.

The climate control system control unit M070 (pins 4, 5, 6 connector B respectively) provides a power supply (pin 1) for the air distribution motor N080, air mixer motor N081 and recirculation/outside air intake motor N082.

Pins 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the three motors are joint and are connected respectively to the pins of the same numbers of connector C of the climate control system control unit M070.

Lastly, control unit M070 is connected (pins 16 1, 2, 3, 18, 10 connector A) to the instrument panel E050 (pins 7, 5, 9, 2, 10, 13 respectively) to communicate various information to the different displays (heated rear windscreen on, air conditioning on, etc.).

2.0 16V JTD, 2.2 16V JTD · Automatic Air Conditioning, MY 2005

The latter takes (pin 3) a power supply from a line protected by fuse MF01 located in the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 1 connector D) and, in turn, supplies (pin 5) the fan control H081 (pin B connector A) and the passenger compartment air temperature sensor K089 (pin 1).

The passenger compartment air temperature sensor K089 is connected (pins 4, 2 and 6) to the climate control system control unit M070 (pins 17, 18 and 16 connector B respectively) and (pin 3) to the fan control H081 (pin A connector A). This last connection is connected to earth C016.

The rain/dusk sensor K125 is connected via pins 2 and 4 to the Body computer node M001 at pins 24 and 26 of connector L: the signals are also transmitted via the CAN to control unit M070. Pin 3 of the above sensor is connected to connector D of earth C020 and pin 1 is connected to pin 3 of connector H of M001.

See E2010 SIDE LIGHTS / NO. PLATE LIGHTS

See E2011 DIPPED HEADLAMPS

Pins 1 of the lower mixed air temperature sensor K087 and the upper sensor K088 are connected to pin 12 of connector B of control unit M070, whilst pins 2 are connected to pins 14 and 15 of the same connector.

The fan control H081 (pins 1 and 2 connector B) is controlled by the climate control system control unit M070 (pins 2 and 3 connector B respectively) and, in turn, controls (pin 1 connectors C and D) the passenger compartment air fan N085 (pin 1 connectors A and B respectively). There is a control unit inside H081 that controls the speed of the fan in relation to the command given by the special selector.

The climate control system control unit M070 supplies:

- from pins 6 and 10 of connector B, pins 1 of the left air mixer motor N078 and the recirculation/outside air intake motor N082 respectively;

- from pins 7 and 8 of connector B, pins 1 of the right air mixer motor N079 and the rair distribution motor N080 respectively.

Pins 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the four motors are joint and are connected respectively to the pins of the same numbers of connector C of the climate control system control unit M070.

Control unit M070 is connected (pins 10, 18, 3, 2, 1, 16 connector A) to the instrument panel E050 (pins 13, 10, 2, 9, 5, 7 respectively) to communicate various information to the different displays (heated rear windscreen on, air conditioning on, etc.).

See E4010 INSTRUMENT PANEL

The additional rear fans N146 and N147, on the versions where they are fitted, receive a power supply at pin 1 from the engine compartment junction unit B001 (pin 2 connector E) through a line protected by fuse F11, with pin 3 connected to connector E of earth C020 and pin 2 connected to the climate control system control unit M070 (pins 5 and 4 connector A respectively).

The command for the fans N146 and N147 is supplied by selectors H125 and H126 respectively. These selectors have:

- pin 4 earthed;

- pin 1 connected to pin 11 of connector H of M001;

- pin 5 connected to pin 7 of connector A of M070;

- pin 6 connected to pin 13 (H125) and pin 6 (H126) of connector A of M070.

The sensor which measures the outside temperature is located on the passenger door mirror P061: The sensor is connected (pins 5 and 6 connector B at P061) to the passenger door control unit M067 (same pins and connector) which, in turn, is connected (pins 1, 20, 19 connector A) to the Body computer node M001 (pin 9 connector F, pins 40 and 38 connector L respectively).
