OPERATIONS IN NETWORK

Network behaviour standards towards the Customer

  • When this problem is reported and confirmed, reassure the Customer that it can be solved by checking and, if necessary, replacing the engine coolant temperature sensor.
  • After the operation illustrate what has been done and test the vehicle to make sure that the Customer is satisfied.

Service Solution:On the vehicles in the batch of chassis between nos. 5211 and 10298 only, check the engine coolant temperature sensor and, if necessary, replace it as described in the Operating Cycle below.

OPERATING CYCLE

The operation should only be carried out on vehicles in the batch of chassis between nos. 5211 and 10298.

During the pre-delivery stage or after the problem has been reported by the Customer, visually inspect the engine coolant temperature sensor which should be:

- green in colour with a green coloured hexagon

or

- green in colour with a brass coloured hexagon and a dark blue dot on one side (Fig. 1).

Sensors which are different colours from the ones described above should be replaced following the procedure described in the Service Manual (see Operation 1060 G14).

It is only acceptable to replace the engine coolant temperature sensor (and not the thermostat assembly), when replacing it and when reporting the operation it is vital to put the A02 expense code and, in addition, for the Italian Market, all the faulty and replaced components MUST be sent to GENCO (ex GEMCA) or else the cost of the repairs carried out will not be recognized under the Warranty.
