Hazards

The hazard warning switch (C96-7) is supplied with a permanent battery feed from fuse 5 of the engine compartment fuse box (C574-3) on a brown/purple wire. Pressing the switch to the on position allows power to flow across the switch (C96-5) to the direction indicator relay (C536-6) on a light green wire. The energised relay is now able to provide a feed (C536-8) for both the LH and RH indicator circuits on a light green/brown wire. The relay is connected to the following via the hazard warning switch:

  • The front LH indicator (C1-2) on a green/red wire.
  • The LH side repeater (C13-1) on a green/red wire.
  • The LH trailer pick-up (C1149-1) on a green/red wire.
  • The rear LH indicator (C928-2) on a green/red wire.
  • The front RH indicator (C2-2) on a green/white wire.
  • The RH side repeater (C12-1) on a green/white wire.
  • The RH trailer pick-up (C1151-1) on a green/white wire.
  • The rear RH indicator (C837-2) on a green/white wire.

The hazard warning switch also provides a feed for the following warning lamps:

  • The hazard warning lamp (C1037-1) on a brown/red wire.
  • The LH indicator warning lamp (C230-5) on a green/red wire.
  • The RH indicator warning lamp (C233-7) on a green/white wire.

With the direction indicator relay energised, the circuit is repeatedly open and closed, causing all indicators and warning lamps to flash.
